Nigerian Chan Eagles marches on

The home-based Super Eagles on Saturday in Cape Town, South Africa, came back from three goals down to overcome Morocco’s Atlas Lions 4-3 in extra time and advance to the semi-final of the ongoing African Nations Championship.

The victory brought back memories of 1989: when Nigeria came back from four goals down to beat USSR on penalties in the quarter-final of the U-20 World Cup and 1996: when a Kanu Nwankwo-inspired Nigerian U-23 side beat Brazil 4-3 in the semi-final of the football event of Atlanta Olympic Games after trailing 3-1 in the earlier stages.

2015 Electioneering process kickstarted

The Independent National Electoral Commission has released the timetable for the 2015 elections. In a statement issued by the commission in Abuja late Friday night, fixed the Presidential and National Assembly elections for February 14, 2015.

The statement was signed  by the Secretary of the Commission, Mrs. Augusta Ogakwu, also fixed state assembly and governorship elections for February 28 same year.
