
What a day it was, it had come and gone but the events of the day will not be quickly forgotten by every delegate at the Eagles Square, venue of the recently concluded PDP 2011 presidential primaries. The contestants, incumbent president, Dr. Goodluck Ebele Azikwe Jonathan; former Vice-President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and the Amazon of our time, Mrs. Sarah Jubril, whom the women folk abandoned in her time of need. What happen to the cry of give women a chance, it seems the women delegate at the venue on this particular night seems to trust more in the men by putting their vote for them, I believe things will change and time will come for the women to come all out to support their kind. President Goodluck Jonathan on Friday won the Peoples Democratic Party's presidential primaries. His victory came after a spirited contest with former vice president, Atiku Abubakar, and veteran aspirant, Sarah Jubril.
Tunde Adeniran, the Chief Returning Officer of the party who declared the result said out of the total valid vote of 3, 542, Mr Jonathan pulled 2, 736 while his closest rival Mr Atiku scored 805. Sarah Jubril got only one vote.
